NutriTrack

Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026 · Version 1.0

Summary

NutriTrack is a food, nutrition and weight tracker. Everything you log stays on your device — NutriTrack has no server and never uploads your diary, your weight, or your profile. It has no ads and no analytics. Two things leave your device, and you control both: the words you type into food search are sent to the U.S. Department of Agriculture to look up nutrition data, and — only if you switch it on — your logs are shared with other apps on your phone through Health Connect.

Who we are

NutriTrack is operated by Seven Talons LLC ("we", "us"), the data controller responsible for this app. This policy applies to the NutriTrack app for Android phones. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at tmolina@seventalons.com.

What information NutriTrack stores

When you use NutriTrack, you may enter:

All of this is stored only in the app's local storage on your own device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party, because NutriTrack has no server to upload it to.

Advertising

NutriTrack contains no advertising. There is no ad SDK, no advertising ID is requested or used, and no consent pop-up is required, because there is nothing to consent to. Your data is never used to target advertising anywhere.

Analytics

NutriTrack contains no analytics, telemetry, or crash reporting. We do not count installs, sessions, screens, taps, or anything else. We have no way of knowing whether you opened the app today.

What leaves your device

Food search (U.S. Department of Agriculture)

When you search for a food, the app sends your search term to the USDA's FoodData Central API (api.nal.usda.gov) to fetch nutrition data. That request contains the words you typed and the app's API key. It does not contain your name, profile, diary, weight, or any identifier we create for you. As with any internet request, the receiving server can see your device's IP address. USDA's handling of that request is governed by their policies, not ours.

Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR): this processing is necessary to provide the search feature you asked for at the moment you ask for it. No search is ever sent in the background. The rest of the app — your diary, weights, targets, and foods you have logged before — works without searching, so you can avoid this entirely and still use NutriTrack.

Health Connect (only if you turn it on)

If you grant Health Connect permissions, NutriTrack:

This exchange happens on your device, between apps you have authorised. Nothing about it is routed through any server operated by us. You can see exactly what is shared, and withdraw it, in Health Connect's own settings at any time; revoking access stops the sharing immediately.

Health data obtained through Health Connect is never used for advertising, never sold, and never transferred to us or to any third party. We never receive it.

Device permissions

NutriTrack requests no location, no camera, no contacts, no advertising ID, and no background activity permissions.

Third parties

Apart from the USDA FoodData Central lookup described above, NutriTrack contains no third-party components — no advertising SDK, no analytics, no crash or error reporting, no social media SDKs, and no data brokers. Health Connect is a Google system service on your own device, not a third party we send data to.

Your rights and controls

For users in the European Union / EEA and the United Kingdom, the rights of access and erasure over your health data under the GDPR / UK GDPR are satisfied directly, since that data is held only on your device and is visible to you in the app at all times. We hold no copy, so there is nothing for us to produce or delete on request.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your data has been handled improperly.

Children's privacy

NutriTrack is for adults aged 18 and over and is not directed at children. The app will not create a profile for anyone under 18: its calorie targets are produced by an equation developed and validated on adults, and it offers weight-loss goals, neither of which is appropriate for a growing body. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. This is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's provisions on children's data.

Health disclaimer

NutriTrack provides general estimates, not medical advice. Calorie and nutrient targets come from a standard formula (Mifflin-St Jeor) and published reference values (FDA Daily Values), and the diet plans are example menus. Neither accounts for your individual health. Talk to a doctor or registered dietitian before changing how you eat — particularly if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition or take medication affected by diet, or have a history of disordered eating.

Data retention

Your data is retained on your device for as long as you keep it there; we never receive it. Clearing the app's storage or uninstalling the app ends that retention immediately. If you have Android's own backup enabled, a copy may be held in your personal Google account backup — that backup is controlled by you and your device settings, not by us.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the version number and "Last updated" date at the top will change. Because the app functions entirely offline and locally, material changes would accompany an app update.
