StickySnap is operated by Seven Talons LLC (“we”, “us”), the data controller responsible for this app. This policy applies to the StickySnap mobile app for Android (“StickySnap”, “the app”). It explains what happens to your information when you use it. For any privacy question or to exercise your rights, contact us at tmolina@seventalons.com.
When you use StickySnap you may create notes, photograph notes, draw them with your finger, connect them with lines, and change board settings. The app stores the note text, the photo each note came from, the connecting lines and your settings only in the app's local storage on your own device. None of it is uploaded to us or to anyone else, because StickySnap has no server to upload it to. We cannot see your notes.
Text recognition runs on your device. The recognition engine and its English language model are bundled inside the app itself, so scanning a note works with no internet connection and sends nothing anywhere.
Settings contains an optional field for an Anthropic API key. It is empty unless you choose to fill it in, and the feature below does not exist until you do.
With a key set, an “✨ Ask Claude AI” button appears while you are reviewing a scan. Pressing that button sends that one photo to Anthropic so that Claude can transcribe the handwriting. This happens only when you press the button, only for the photo in front of you, and never automatically or in the background. No note text, no other photo and no setting is sent with it.
Anthropic's handling of that photo is governed by their own policy: anthropic.com/legal/privacy. Your API key is stored only on your device and is sent only to Anthropic, as the credential for that request. It is never included in a backup file you export.
Legal basis (GDPR / UK GDPR): our legal basis for this transfer is your consent, given by entering a key and pressing the button. You can withdraw it at any time by clearing the key in Settings, which removes the feature.
International transfers: Anthropic processes the photo on servers that may be in the United States or other countries. Those transfers are covered by Anthropic's own safeguards; see their policy linked above.
There is none. StickySnap contains no advertising SDK, shows no ads, and has no advertising ID permission. Nothing about you is used for ad targeting.
Settings shows a small set of counters: which days you opened the app, and how often the scanner read a note correctly rather than needing correction, Claude, or typing. These are plain counts, held on your device, and never transmitted. No text from any note is recorded in them, and they are not an analytics service — nothing receives them.
Apart from Anthropic, and only when you use the optional feature above, StickySnap contains no third-party components — no advertising SDK, no analytics, no crash or error reporting, no session recording, no social media SDKs, and no data brokers.
For users in the EU/EEA and the UK, the rights above (access, portability and erasure under the GDPR / UK GDPR) are satisfied directly by these in-app controls, since the data is held only on your device. For a photo you chose to send to Anthropic, contact them using their policy linked above.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority if you believe your data has been handled improperly.
StickySnap is a general-audience app and is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 where applicable), and is not intended for them. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. This is consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR's provisions on children's data.
Your notes are retained on your device for as long as you keep them there; we never receive them. Clearing the data or uninstalling the app ends that retention. A photo you chose to send to Anthropic is retained according to Anthropic's policies, not ours.
If this policy changes, the version number and “Last updated” date at the top will change.
